The CK Mensah Foundation, in partnership with Godoramp Innovative Thinkers LBG and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), recently launched the Godoramp Care+ Community Outreach, a three-day program designed to bring essential healthcare and support directly to the people of Madina (La-Nkwantanang Municipal, Greater Accra).

Held on August 17th, 29th, and 30th, 2025, the outreach brought together a team of dedicated volunteers and health professionals who worked tirelessly to meet the needs of vulnerable groups, especially women, children, and kayayei (female head porters).
Healthcare at the Community’s Doorstep

For many residents, routine health checks and insurance registration are often out of reach due to distance, cost, or lack of awareness. To bridge this gap, the outreach offered:
Free medical screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks
NHIS registration and renewals, helping families gain access to healthcare coverage
Distribution of essentials such as head pans, aprons, T-shirts, and slippers
The impact was clear: over 1,000 residents were registered onto NHIS, and 350 people received free medical screenings, making healthcare more accessible to those who need it most.
Standing with the Kayayei
A special focus of the outreach was the kayayei, women who migrate from northern Ghana to work as head porters in city markets. These women face harsh working conditions, daily struggles, and serious health risks. By extending medical care and practical support, the CK Mensah Foundation and partners sought not only to ease their burdens but also to affirm their dignity and resilience.

Community Collaboration in Action
The three-day event took place across Madina Market, Madina Islamic School, and Christ Embassy Church, La Nkwantanang, with strong participation from local leaders and officials, including the Madina Area Assemblyman and NHIS Regional Director. Their presence underscored the shared commitment to advancing universal health coverage and improving community well-being.
Building Healthier Futures Together

The Godoramp Care+ outreach is more than a one-time event, it is a step toward a future where no one is left behind in accessing healthcare. For the CK Mensah Foundation, this initiative reflects our mission to empower communities through health and education, while showing what is possible when organizations and communities come together for the greater good.

“Healthcare is not a privilege; it is a right. Together, we are building healthier, stronger, and more hopeful communities.”
